Wine Selection
If you
are serving one white and one red wine a popular choice for most groups
would be a Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Just as
it's fun to serve a variety of foods it's great to have a variety of
wines to taste. A good choice for a wider selection of wines would be:
- Chardonnay
for a medium body white
- Pinot
Grigio for a refreshing, light bodied white
- Merlot
for a medium body red
- Cabernet
Sauvignon for a full bodied red
No need
to worry about wasting leftover wine. Black Box will stay fresh
for at least 4 weeks after opening.
Serving Your
Wine
Don't
serve your white wines too cold:
White wines are often served too cold. Serving a wine too cold kills
the aroma and mutes the flavors. The ideal temperature for white wines
is around 50F. Wine left submerged in ice water will get down close
to 32F and that's far too cold. Cool your Black Box white wines down
in the fridge the night before the game. A chilled Black Box will stay
cool for hours because of the insulating factor of the box, so there
is no problem leaving it out on the table.
If you
need to cool down your Black Box wine quickly you can remove the bag
from the box and submerge it in ice water. When the wine is cooled down,
put the bag back into the box and serve. Don't put the box in ice water;
it will fall apart if it gets too wet.
Don't
serve your red wines too warm:
Red wines taste best at around 65F. It's not a bad idea to cool the
reds down a bit in the fridge before leaving for the game. That way
they won't get too warm sitting out on a hot day. The Black Box will
insulate your red wine keeping it from getting too warm if left out
on the table.
